When something seems
Too hard to handle
Too big to conquer
Too far away to touch
When all your dreams
Begin to shatter
And deep inside you
You're hurtin', oh, so much
That's when it's time to say
Refrain:
I'm climbing my mountain, step by step
I'm climbing my mountain, day by day
I'm climbing my mountain, all the way
I'm climbing my mountain
I'm gonna make it
Chorus:
One step at a time
One step at a time
One step at a time
With Jesus by my side
One step at a time
One step at a time
I'm climbing my mountain
One step at at time
Even though you might grow weary
Don't be discouraged
In our weakness God is strong
Remember this, He'll never leave you
He won't forsake you
He's your strength and He's your song
So sing and start to say...
(Refrain then Chorus)

Can't really remember the second verse and Mr. Google can't help me this time. I asked my mom and my brother if they remember the second verse. They made me sing first (1st verse and chorus) so they could remember the tune and hopefully the lyrics. Unfortunately, they could only remember the chorus. But my mom remembered she wrote the lyrics in her small notebook. (We had the album in cassette tape but unfortunately the album cover was lost already.) Good thing my mom still have that small notebook. :)
Thoughts I've realized... it's good to take notes and remember where you put the notebook (hehe!), and I'm just amazed how God designed our memory! :)

Wow, I was looking for the title of this song. It was our graduation song in elementary (years and years ago)and I was wondering whether the the title is "Climbing my Mountain" or "One Step at a Time". Thanks for the tip!
Woah! this was actually my favorite song back when I was in grade school and I keep on googl'ing this for so long.
Do you still remember the composer of this song?
-btw pinoy nga din pala ako. XD
I know the album was written by Debby and Ernie Rettino. I'm not so sure though if they're the composer of all the songs in the album. :)
Thanks for the lyrics :). This was our elementary graduation song too and found this on imeem http://www.imeem.com/people/688PiX/music/nBqq9UFF/psalty-one-step-at-a-time/ .. enjoy :)

This is the kind of Holy inspired songs that u don't always come by these days
it's a precious seed that was sown in the fertile hearts and is now yielding fruits, we are living witnesses
Oh that God would raise the fallen tents of Jacob and give us men who will dedicate themselves to the edification of kids, and establishing them in the way of the Lord. Amen

Hi I really love this song ... but im wondering where can i find the actual song? pls help me .
Long live Thika Road Christian School.Thats where i learnt this song for presentation on a certain Graduation/Speech Day.It takes me down memory lane and thats a strong one the fraternity gave to me.
What a blessing. Saw this blog while looking for lyrics to show someone. For people who want to get the song again -- go to psalty.com. It is on Psalty's Camping Adventure (lots of other great songs on that CD/Video/DVD too -- "I cast all my cares upon him", "Bible Alphabet Song", etc.) Contact Psalty (Ernie Rettino) and share with him how the song has blessed you. Check out their other videos/CD's too! My sons and I had pleasure of eating out with Ernie and Debbie several years ago and she shared the story behind that song (a VERY difficult mountain camping trip)-- quite an inspiration.
I feel so nostalgic. Love this so much. As a child, I would sit glued to the TV watching 'kids praise'. very lovely and inspiring!
this is the link to the song with the actual video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QM46ME7pAoU&feature=related

OMG! I sang this for my 5th grade graduation! I'm close to hitting 30 now...and the lyrics mean so much more today of course. #onestepatatime
